This was a spur of the moment photo I was sitting indoors this afternoon watching the sun go down and felt the urge to go out and take some photos the Sheppey Crossing is only 2 mile from home and such a graphic image
I had to stand in the water that surround the support pillars of the bridge with my camera on a tripod with a setting of ISO 100 at f22 with a grey grad filter to get this image

Sunrise-shellness

This picture was taken at Shellness on the Isle of Sheppey on this morning it was a crisp -8 with the high tide coinciding with the sunrise

It was a cold and early start last February to photograph the sunrise at Shellness beach on the Isle of Sheppey it was -8 and being that cold the beach was frozen you can see the ice at the edge of the tide as it was coming in
Harty-Church

This is Harty church. The hamlet that it served has long gone the building is a real architectural treasure built in 1089 it is substantially unchanged although much of the wood has been replaced over the centuries. In recent times the tower has had to have many wooden pan tiles replaced after repeated attacks by woodpeckers. One remarkable feature is that despite being only yards from a local 240v power distribution line the church has no electricity and is lit by wick oil lamps and candles.

Bosuns Store is an old yacht chandlers in Queenborough High Street it is now empty and going to be converted into either flats or a coffee shop

This photo was taken in the early hour of this morning (7/8/08) from the bedroom window it is a little soft and not as sharp as I would have liked it but it is very difficult focusing in the dark and shooting through glass which does not help

This picture was taken at Shellness on the Isle of Sheppey the groyne make a good lead-in line to the water edge and to the wind farm which is off the coast of Whitstable and Herne Bay.
